The Remuneration Committee believes that in order to execute the principles discussed above and to encourage executive directors, and other senior executives, to achieve stretching long term financial objectives set by the Committee, it is appropriate to operate a long term incentive plan. The policy is to make annual awards expressed as a percentage of salary with vesting dependent on the achievement of challenging performance conditions set by the Committee at the time the awards are made.
